(Buffalo, NY) |
Mike Caputy picked up his first drum stick at age seven and by the age of fourteen was playing with some of the finest professional musicians in Buffalo. At seventeen he had 'slammed' his way into the Buffalo music scene playing for Ike Smith and "Free Spirit." Mike quickly made a name for himself as one of the hardest-hitting, tasteful and deepest-groove drummers in the business. At age 21, Mike earned his first triple platinum record with R&B soul artist Rick James. After moving to Muscle Shoals, Alabama in the early eighties, Mike reunited with former Buffalo native Steve Nathan and began working "live" and in the studio with some of the most prestigious musicians in the Shoals area. In 1993, Mike relocated to Nashville where he still lives and works. Since moving there he has worked with some of the most talented artists in the industry. Mike has worked with a wide variety of musical talent including T. Graham Brown, David Lee Murphy, Johnny Neel,
John Rich, Marty Stuart, and Rick James to name a very small few. He was inducted into the 'Buffalo Music Hall of Fame' in 2002 and is currently one of the most sought after musicians in the business. |
